Changito Valentine Kits

Changito was a popular image this round. 3 different gals sent a Changito in their kits and they all used different images. I love Changito so I had fun with all of them. First up is Tammi's kit. Oh my gosh, I could just squeeze this little guy. I was a little stumped at first because he is so tiny, but I love what I came up with. I started by cutting the image out with Labels 2 Nesties. I kept the image in the Nestie and used it as a template to sponge Bashful Blue around the background. I've seen so many people doing that lately, but this was the first time I've tried it out. Worked like a charm! Changito was colored in with Koh-i-noor pencils. I cut out his little hand holding the heart and raised it with a dimensional. I then went over the heart with a thick layer of Royal Red Shimmerz - that way it matched the deep red of the paper. To view all of the cards made with this kit, click here.

Stamps: Changito Valentines Clear set (Stampendous)
Paper: Fancy Pants Designs - Splendid, Real Red, White, Basic Black
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bashful Blue
Other: Labels 2 Nesties, Koh-i-noor pencils, dimensional, sponge, Royal Red Shimmerz, aquapainter, Lt. pink pearls, ribbon from my stash

Next up is Cindy's kit. I followed this sketch that I found over on Jen's blog. Mom look very closely :) I'm totally excited because I used my new Janome Sew Mini for the first time. Well, the first time on something besides scratch paper, LOL. My mom surprised me with one for Christmas and I've been practicing for a few weeks now. It's pretty straight for a newbie huh? Keep in mind I've never sewed a thing in my life. I was very proud of myself!! The heart in the corner is from the Heart Prints set by Papertrey Ink. Told y'all I used it a lot on these kits. The heart was stamped with Pretty in Pink. I then cut it out using the medium heart punch by EK Success. It's then raised with a dimensional and I covered it with Crystal Effect. Looks like a little piece of candy! To view all of the cards made with this kit, click here.

Stamps: Changito (Stampendous), Heart Prints (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink, Bo Bunny Sweetie Pie Swoon, Basic Black
Ink: Palette Noir, Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink
Other: Pretty in Pink grosgrain, crystal effects, Koh-i-noor pencils, Janome Sew Mini, EK Success medium Heart Punch, dimensional

The final Changito kit was from Suzanne. Suz organized this whole round - thanks sweetie! I loved the pastel colors you sent; makes me so ready for Spring! I followed Sketch Challenge 214 for the layout. Changito was cut out and embossed with Rectangle Nesties. He is colored in with Koh-i-noor pencils. The Perfect Plum panel is embossed with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder. I punched a little heart out using the EK Success med. heart punch. I then covered it with Green Olive Shimmerz to make it sparkle! I thought it would be a good way to dress up the sentiment a little. To finish it all off, I added a May Arts ribbon (look Tammi - it's big!!) and some silver rhinestone stickers that I picked up at Michael's around the holidays. Stamps: Changito Bouquet (Stampendous), So Many Sayings
Paper: PTI white, Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Ink: Palette Noir
Other: silver rhinestone stickers, aquapainter, Green Olive Shimmerz, May Arts Satin ribbon, EK Success med. Heart Punch, Word Window punch, Koh-i-noor pencils, Argyle Cuttlebug folder, Rectangle Nesties, dimensional
