With Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card for a SCS friend whose MIL just passed away :( I had just gotten my SU order from last month and I had a pack of Taken with Teal and Certainly Celery laying there together when I realized that they look really good as a combo. This is my first time to order Taken with Teal and I LIKE it! Beware y'all might be seeing a lot of that color soon, which is good because I've been told that I am using too much So Saffron and Barely Banana lately, LOL.

My main image is from a SU set called Sassy Stems. Someone Wish-RAK'd them to me over on SCS and I've had fun playing with them. I colored the image in with SU markers. For the bloom, I outlined it with Taken with Teal and then colored it in using Rose Red. I also went over the vase swirls with my Sakura Stardust pen. My corners are dressed up using the Ticket Corner punch. The image is then layered on a piece of Taken with Teal and then black cs. I used my paper piercer and mat pack to punch some holes in the black cs. Then I took my Signo white gel pen and added some faux stitching.

The base cs is another piece of Taken with Teal. I then cut a piece of Certainly Celery cs and stamped it using the Fine Lace bg in the same color. I don't know why I haven't used that bg more often. It is so elegant and just makes a soft bg!! My Rose Red cs is stamped with the Linen bg in the same color. My grosgain ribbon is Certainly Celery and my sentiment if from a SU set called Warmest Regards. Again I dressed my corners up with the ticket corner punch and lined it with a piece of black cs before gluing it to my base.

Very nice. I'm so bad about Sympathy cards. I really need to make a couple but never know the right thing to say in them, so I shy away from making them. This is very well done!
