Summertime Frame

This week's Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge is to use Rub-on's!!!! Lindsey carries a great supply of different rub-on's and I love using them. They are so easy to add to your projects and you can use them on so many different things: cards, scrapbook pages and even altered art. I hope you play along with us. If you do, please use the keyword JBE045 when uploading your work so we can all check it out!

I decided to make an altered frame for this challenge. I got this frame at least a year ago, maybe more, in the $1 spot at Target. They came in several colors so I picked up a few. I like having the colored frame because then you don't have to paint the edges! I followed this tutorial by Emily. The paper I modpodged on is October Afternoon Main Street and Fancy Pants Wild Child. I then pulled out my Cosmo Cricket Freedom rub-on's pack. I've used it before on this card a few months ago. At first I was going to use the Best Friends rub-on, but I tried the summertime at the bottom and it fit. Plus the papers were perfect for a summery frame. So I lined it up and rubbed it on. Easy Peasy and it adds to much to my frame. I went ahead and modpodged over everything to help seal the edges and prevent any damage in the future. As you can see, the modpodge had no effect on the rubon!! To dress it up a little bit more, I tied on some Papaya grosgrain from A Muse and then dressed up on off these Prima Wildflowers. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pack of flowers. I know I've said it before, but it's fabulous! It contains so many different shapes and flowers in it. They come off white so they are perfect for dressing up. I simply took an aquapainter and went over mine with two different colored of Shimmerz: Aqua Marine (in the center) and Wintergreen (around the edges). The two blended so well together, matched my paper and just overall fit the theme. It is so super sparkly too!!!! I glued it down with Crystal Effects and then adhered a Basic Grey Ambrosia button to the middle. I love how it all turned out. I think it would be great to add a favorite vacation pic in or even to make and hand out at party favors at a pool party! Thanks for stopping by.
