My mother, my friend

Here is the card that I came up with for Mother's Day this year. It is totally inspired by Beate's sample for the Thumping technique. As soon as I saw her card, I had to order the Pretty Petals background and try out the new technique. I also got my color inspiration from her. So thank you Beate!!! I started off by doing my background and it was so easy!!! I just inked it up with Certainly Celery and then took my Taken With Teal marker and thumped it around the stamp. After you stamp it down, it gives it such a beautiful, almost marbled look. I can't wait to try it out with some other stamps! I found this sketch by Jen to use. Isn't it a cool layout? It also still showed a lot of the background which was perfect to show off this new technique. My main image is stamped using the Butterfly Kisses set from Papertrey Ink. First I stamped the solid butterfly in Taken with Teal and in Certainly Celery, then I inked up the lines in Taken with Teal and stamped them on the Celery butterfly. I cut out this image and glued it on top of the solid Teal butterfly. I then took my paper piercer and poked a few holes. To finish it off I added a flower from the Spring Flower punch. The image is mounted on Taken with Teal, then Kraft and raised with a dimensional. The Celery cardstock is stamped with the Canvas background. I've been waiting to use this sentiment from Gina K. It came with one of my orders and it is such a sweet saying. I hope that all the moms out there have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow and that y'all have a great time celebrating with your families!!!!
