With Sympathy

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card this week to send to a friend and this is what I came up with. I knew I wanted to use this stamp from Garden Silhouettes so I flipped through some of my favorite sketches until I found one that would work. I picked sketch challenge 166. To start, I flipped my stamp over and started coloring directly on the image with my SU markers. I used Ruby Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. Be sure to "huff" on it before you stamp it down. I used the ticket corner punch and added some copper brads to dress up the corners. The background is stamped in Ruby Red with the same main image. That makes a beautiful background!!! The So Saffron is stamped with a retired Crackle background from TAC. Be sure to click on the picture for a closeup. I'm happy with how it turned out. Simple yet elegant IMO. I really love this color combo too. Happy weekend everyone!!!!!

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes, Warmest Regards, Crackle (TAC, retired)
Paper: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Ruby Red, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
Other: Bashful Blue grosgrain, ticket corner punch, copper brads
Markers used: Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip

Very nice! I hate making sympathy cards. I had to make one this week too.
How do you get your brads in your corners so nicely? Mine never work out that well.

Kim,
Its sad when you need a sympathy card, I made two this week, both for friends that lost loved ones. This is very elegant you did a wonderful job on this, I really like the crackle back ground stamp on the one panel and the layout is fantastic!
