Happy Engagement Day!!!

On this day 6 years ago, my little lobster got down on one knee and popped the question. We had been dating for 3 1/2 years and both of our families took a trip together to visit my brother and his family in Germany. The second day that we were there, we decided to go over to a city called Ulm and tour the Munster, it's a famous, gorgeous, huge cathedral ( wiki says it the tallest in the world). Everytime we have been to Germany, we have toured/climbed the church and it has always been one of my favorite things to do. We toured the inside and then bought a ticket to climb to the top. That was the best bun workout I ever got, LOL. Me and Ross took our time going up, stopping to take pictures along the way and just catch our breath! When we finally climbed the 768 steps to the very top we were able to see a beautiful view. I noticed that Ross was being extra lovey dovey and now I know that he was planning to pop the question there, but I was to focused on the scenery and taking pictures. Plus it was really crowded and there was not a lot of room.

So we decided to go down a level and wait for his dad. This is my favorite level anyways. You basically come out of the stairwell and you are standing on the slanted roof of the church. Too cool. Ross managed to drag me to the backside of the church and that is when it happend and he finally caught my attention. I didn't realize what was going on until he took a knee and then I started freaking out. For one thing I was still standing on the slanted part of the roof, so I just saw the top of his head and then the huge drop off below. He totally surprised me. I know that I did a lot of stuttering and Ross had to ask me several times for the answer. When I did say yes, the church bells starting ringing (there was a wedding going on down below) that is when the shaking started, LOL.

Shortly after that, Ross' dad met up with us and Ross asked him if he would like a new DIL. I've never seen someone smile so big. He took several pictures of us, including my finger with the ring. My brother, SIL, parents and MIL had decided not to climb the church, but we had them on walkie talkies. My FIL almost spilled the news over the airwaves but we stopped him just in time. He stumbled and just said that I wasn't feeling too well. We slowly started our descent once I stopped shaking and made our way to the rest of the family. My FIL immediately pulled out his camera and had everyone gather around to view the pictures he had taken. It was kinda funny because he had some amazing shots, but he was flying through them trying to get to the end..where the picture of my ring was. Tears started flowing and smiles and hugs began. We walked around Ulm for a few hours and I swear my dad took a picture of us on every corner..I believe he was a tad happy!! It really was too good to be true. July 14th is never a day I will forget. Love ya babydoll!!!!
