Glowing & Growing

Something is definitely in the water!! I know 7 people who are currently pregnant. So far we have 3 girls, 3 boys and 1 unknown all on the way. I thought I better get a jump start and make some cards before all the baby showers roll around. This will forever be my favorite expecting set. I just LOVE it. The images are adorable and the sentiments are perfect. The little mamas are great for paper piecing too. That's exactly what I did here. She is stamped on Very Vanilla and then I paper pieced her hat, dress, pants and purse. I like to cut things out, LOL! To make her "glow" a little more, I highlighted around her with a Copic C1 marker. I added a pearl to her hat and faux stitching along the edges. Isn't she cute! I also paper pieced the belly cream together so the colors would match everything. See that blue panel? I did a technique on it called Faux Suede (I've heard some people call it Faux Flannel). I learned it a couple years ago in stamp club and it's super easy. All you do it take your strip of paper and run it back and forth along the edge of your desk to break up the fibers a bit. Once your paper is flexible, start at a corner and slowly peel it into 2 pieces. You're left with a super soft paper to work with. It was perfect for this card because you always think of soft things when you think about a baby and my pattern paper was so busy that I needed something that added texture, but was still plain. If you give it a try, let me know! I would love to see what you come up with. I used Sketch Challenge 199 for the layout. Thanks for stopping by!
