New Recipes



I tried out some new recipes this week and thought I would share them with y'all. Have you joined Tasty Kitchen yet?? I love that place and I always find new things to test out and save to my recipe box. The other day I decided to make Oven-Baked Chimichangas. Talk about a crowd pleaser!! These were super easy to make and the flavors blended so well once they were baked. We love black beans so I was glad to see the recipe included that. We used spinach and HEB's Cilantro Salsa. The recipe makes quite a bit and they are filling. We definitely had leftovers and were able to enjoy them the next day! Next up, I made Rachel Ray's Florentine Sauce with Penne. Oh my yum! The sauce was amazing. The pureed carrots added a great texture and thickness to the sauce giving the meal a great comfort food feel. We used whole wheat pasta and again had leftovers for the next day. Finally, I decided to make Martha Stewart's Banana Bread recipe that all of the PTI girls have been raving about. Now I see what all the hype was about! The bread turned out perfect and made the house smell delicious. The sour cream made the bread very soft and moist. I got a good deal on walnuts at Sprouts the other day so that is what I used in our loaf. Hope I've inspired you to try a new recipe out soon. Happy cooking!!!!

thanks for the meal ideas- I'm kind of in a dinner slump and want to try some new things. This sounds perfect
