A Richard Scarry Christmas

I can't help but think about Richard Scarry books when I use this image; which makes me smile even more because I love flipping through his books. Between cleaning up the house and digging my way through a pile of laundry, I just couldn't resist sneaking in here to make a card. The holiday kept me crazy busy so I didn't have any stamping time. However, that was completely okay because we had a wonderful few days visiting with a bunch of family. I found this sketch over on Paper Craft Planet and decided to give it a try. I wanted to keep my card fairly simple to help get my creative juices flowing again and I also wanted to try out my new Shimmerz. I finally gave in, did a little reading up on them and bought some Shimmerz from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. WOW, WOW, WOW -I will definitely be buying more soon. It's mega shimmery and so easy to use! I just painted it on and was surprised at how fast it dried. I can't tell you how many times I've picked up the card and just stared at that shimmery ornament. I'm excited to play with the other colors I picked out. Have you tried them before? Do you have a favorite color? So far :) I have Royal Red, Spiced Cider, Aqua Marine, Golden Wheat, Bubble Gum, and Angel Wings. From what I've read, everyone loves the gold! Okay moving on, sorry - I'm just a tad excited about these, can you tell, LOL. To add a little more detail to the image, I covered parts of the hat with white liquid applique. I used glitter brads so they are nice and sparkly as well and I sponged the edges of the card with Close to Cocoa. Thanks for stoppin' by.
