Hello bookworms and happy leap day. I was able to finish up a book this afternoon so that it could be included on this month's list. Have y'all read anything good in the past 4 weeks? Here's my list:
1. Janette Oke - Love's Enduring Promise: Book two in the Love Comes Softly series. This book still focuses on Clark and Marty Davis and follows them for about 13 years as they raise their family and help establish their community. (Christian Fiction)
2. Ian McEwan - Atonement: A friend loaned me this book and I'm glad she did. It's typically not something I would have read on my own. It's about a girl named Briony, who at a young age misinterprets a situation between her older sister Cecilia, and Robbie, the son of one of their servants. This event starts a lie and accusation that changes the lives and ruins the reputation of everyone involved. It's filled with love, hate, and guilt. However all of these emotions shape Briony into a successful novelist in her old age and once you finish reading Part 4, you step back and question the entire novel. I will admit that it was slow at times and I didn't really get into it until about 100 pages in, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I'm looking forward to watching the movie now. (Fiction)
3. Nina Wright - Whiskey on the Rocks: Book 1 in the Whiskey Mattimoe Mysteries. Whiskey is a realtor in Magnet Springs. She is also recently widowed and trying to get over the unexpected loss of her husband, Leo. A distraction occurs when a murder takes place in a client's home. Did I mention that she is also watching after the kid next door, her rambunctious dog Abra and Leo's pregnant daughter? It's a fun mystery full of quirky characters and many laugh out loud moments! (Fun/Light Mystery)
4. Karen Kingbury - Someday: Book 3 in the Sunrise series. This one picks up right where Summer left off. Ashley and Landon are trying to move on after the death of their daughter Sarah. Her short life truly touched all the Baxter's and has brought inspiration to open up a new crisis center in town. John is struggling with the emotions he is facing in his relationship with Elaine. Does he want to take the next step with her? Would that be betraying Elizabeth's memory? Katy and Dayne are in different countries working on movies. Their marriage is already strained by the separation and is put to the test when a questionable photo makes the headlines. There are a lot of struggles and challenges to face not only in the Baxter family, but in Bloomington as well. Just a wonderful story. Only sad thing is one book remains in the series :( (Christian Fiction)
5. Janette Oke - Love's Long Journey: Book 3 in the Love Comes Softly series. This book follows Missie and Willie as they travel west and start their life together. They face many challenges during their trip and find that it's tough work starting a ranch. Definitely makes you realize how hard life was back then and that we should be thankful for all the little things that make everyday task easy! (Christian Fiction)

Hi, Kim! My Google alert for "Whiskey Mattimoe" picked up your blog, and I want to thank you for reading and blogging about the first book in my series.
I hope you keep reading 'em; the fourth book, "Whiskey and Water," comes out in April.
Thanks again! (BTW, I really liked "Atonement," too.)

Hi Kim,
I'm so sorry I posted your bella card on my blog without asking you first. I did link to your blog and thought that would be ok. I took the card off right away and again I am so very sorry.
