A Grunged Hydrangea

A Grunged Hydrangea, originally uploaded by orosky17.

I just wanted to show y'all a picture I worked on yesterday. I recently joined a fabulous site called Open Scrapbook. It's run by two lovely and very talented sisters, Michelle and Misti. They have created step by step tutorials to easily walk you through a variety of techniques using Photoshop. I sat down yesterday and tried the Grunge and Desaturation in a Frame tutorial on one of my photos. This picture was taken last month while I was on vacation. I snapped it at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco. I highly recommend visiting there!!! It was super quiet, peaceful and full of many photo opportunities. Michelle's tutorial was extremely easy to follow. I was very excited with the final result! It still kept everything I loved about the photo: the slight shades of pink on some of the petals, the soft purples in the background, but at the same time I love the hue and texture it added! Here is a link to the original picture in case you want to check it out. Be sure to stop by and check out their new website. Trust me you won't walk away without learning something!

This is just so pretty Kim! You should print it and frame it, it is so good!

I'm going to add S.F. to my list of places to visit. I think I would be in heaven at the Japanese Tea Garden!
