Baking Frenzy

I finally got around to baking yesterday and I went a little nuts, LOL. First up I made gingerbread cookies. First time I have ever made them and it definitely won't be my last. I used this recipe that Tammi posted over on her blog. Go ahead, click on it and save it now. Trust me - you need it! OMGoodness, you could so sell these cookies. They were so easy to make and they make your house (and hands, LOL) smell wonderful. I followed Tammi's advice and kept them soft and small. My family has already requested that I make these every year. Ross wants them every month. He said in Feb. I can make hearts and in March shamrocks, etc :) I think he likes them! Thanks for the fabulous recipe Tammi! Next up I made Snicker Surprise cookies (these are always a big hit), Pioneer Woman's Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies , Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk cookies, and Oreo Balls. I also made a Poppyseed Cake. When I was in high school I found this recipe one year and just started making it every Christmas. So back at Thanksgiving, my mom requested that I make it again. We like having it for breakfast with coffee or hot tea. It's super easy to make. The cake comes out really moist and the icing is definitely lick worthy. Told y'all I went a little bake happy yesterday. I smelled like sugar for the rest of the night, LOL. We aren't done either. My mom is making Trash at the moment. Guess I should explain that :) That is what we call her chex mix. I always fight my oldest brother for it. When she is done she is going to show me how to make divinity. Her grandma taught her how to make it and it has become one of my dad's all time favorites. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas celebration. If you are traveling, be safe and just enjoy this time with your family and friends. Merry Christmas!!!
