My First Apple Pie

I've been cooking and baking for about fifteen years now and this was my very first time to attempt making an apple pie. I followed Kris' recipe exactly and it came out perfect. The only thing I had to buy was a bag of apples. Can't beat that! Her crust recipe was perfect. It was soft and easy to work with once chilled. Plus is taste great! I love that her recipe has you chop the apples too. I've only had apple pie with big slices, but I love all of the little pieces in this one. I also think that it's a great idea to set the spiced apples in the fridge for a bit. My bowl did have a good amount of liquid in the bottom of it when I pulled it out, which Ross proceeded to taste later. That step definitely saved the crust from becoming soggy and the filling is mighty tasty. Since making an apple pie made me feel super domestic and the perfect housewife, I decided to give making a lattice top a whirl. I followed these directions and found out that I need to learn to cut straight lines better, LOL. But it turned out pretty and Ross was very impressed. Kris thanks for the fabulous recipe!!!

I really want to read about the last book, but I'm only on the second. So glad Deni wised up! And I was soooo mad at Vic for what he did with that farm couple, GRRR!
