Faux Stitched Bella

Today's bella color challenge was some wonderful pastel colors. I just love this soft combo. I used a few techniques on my main image. One present was paper pieced using the same background paper while the blue present and bottom of her shirt have Stickles on it. Her feet were masked so I could stamp the mini oval ( click here for Amy's wonderful post on how to do that - this is the whole reason I ordered that stamp). I decided to try a new faux stitching around the edges. This one is called the blanket stitch. Really easy to do with your mat pack/piercer and a white gel pen. Emily has a fantastic tutorial here. The bad thing about pastel cards is sometimes not everything shows up in the photo..especially when you have an old camera (we are getting close on getting a new one, WooHoo). So the photo didn't capture it, but the Bashful Blue background has the Linen stamp on it. Happy Stamping!

Stamps: surpriseabella with hat (stamping bella), Mini Oval Bl (A Muse), Linen, Small Sayings.
Paper: Certainly Celery, white, Bashful Blue, SU designer paper Slumber Party
Ink: Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Black
Other: Stardust Stickles, Celery grosgrain, mat pack/piercer, white gel pen, scallop scissors
Techniques: faux blanket stitch, masking, paper piecing
