Sketch Challenge #128

It's sketch challenge day over on SCS. This was a cool layout.

My base card is a piece of Sage Shadow cardstock. I love that color. I took a piece of Barely Banana cs and stamped the Canvas background on it in the same color. My sentiment is from a SU set called Small Sayings. It is stamped in Close to Cocoa. My Rose Red cs is stamped, in the same color, using the Crackle background from TAC. Once I glued my Rose Red cs down I thought the top and bottom needed something. So I pulled out my trusty mat pack and paper piercer and added a row of holes. The panel is then lined with a piece of Close to Cocoa cs.

I got my main image from the Wish-RAK group on SCS. It is a Anna Wight design sold by Whipper Snapper. The name of it is Bucket of Posies. I used my SU markers to color the flowers, leaves and dirt. I then took a grey watercolor pencil and colored the pail..I'll come back to that in a second. My image is backed with a piece of Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow cs. I took my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and ran it along the edges of my Sage Shadow cs.

To finish it off, I punch a hole and added some ribbon that I got from Hobby Lobby. I also stamped and cut out an additional little yellow flower that is raised with a tiny dimensional. Back to the pail, I pulled out my Pebbles Inc. Pearlescent Chalking set to add a little shimmer. I used the Shimmer set because there is a pretty silver color in it. I just took my applicator and ran it over the pail image. It is super shimmery in real life, be sure to click on the picture to see a better close up. I've got to remember to use those shimmer sets more often!!!

Oooohhh, that shimmer is really nice! I need to invest in some of those chalks! I just have standard chalks. I love how your camera picked up the shimmer so well! I'd love to know some of the specs on the camera you use, I need a new one desperately, I can't get a good still picture of a card to save my life! They all come out blurry!

What an awesome sketch challenge and you did a great job with it. I've been so far behind on sketches, it seems I end up doing them a week behind if at all!
