Chipboard and Venus

Got home yesterday afternoon from a wonderful weekend away. We stayed with my parents in their new camper and then went to my aunt's house for stamp club on Saturday. She wanted me to do a shoebox swap with chipboard and just show the girls how to modpodge pattern paper onto something. I was kinda at a loss coming up with ideas but this came to me at the last moment Friday night ;) The chipboard, pattern paper (Slumber Party) and stamp set (Riveting) are all from Stampin' Up!. I got the ribbon from Michael's. You just trace your flower onto the pattern paper and cut it out right inside of your pencil lines to make it fit. Then brush a thin layer of modpodge on the chipboard, stick your pattern paper onto that and smooth out any bubbles with your hands. Then add another thin layer of modpodge to the top of the paper and decorate the center. You can also paint the edges. I like doing this because then you don't have to be so perfect when you cut out the pattern paper. My cousin brought these little jars to stick the flower onto. I got my jar at IKEA, they come 4 to a package for like 2.99! We just used Terrifickly Tacky Tape to adhere the two together. I thought this would make an adorable favor or decoration for a baby shower. You could fill them with jelly beans or M&M's.

Did y'all see Venus by the moon on Saturday night. It was crazy bright!! I love it when we go to the country and you can see all of the stars in the sky. One thing I miss about living in the city, you see stars, but not all of them.
